  2. If your bank withholds tax, enter the rate and the net return appears.
  3. Switch to “Compound growth” if you save regularly.

Frequently asked questions

How is deposit interest calculated?

Simple interest: principal × annual rate × days ÷ 365. For 100,000 at 40% for 32 days the gross interest is about 3,507.

What is withholding tax on interest?

A tax your bank deducts from the interest and pays to the state. The rate changes with rules and term, so enter the figure your bank applies.

What is the difference between simple and compound interest?

Simple interest only grows the original principal. With compound interest the interest you earn is added to the balance and earns interest itself, so the gap widens over time.

How does the monthly savings calculation work?

Your starting amount and each month-end deposit grow at the compounding frequency you choose. You see total paid in, interest earned and the final balance.

Will the result match my bank exactly?

Not always. Banks may count days, round and tax differently. This tool is indicative, check your contract for binding figures.
